Detailed Itinerary
In the morning you will be picked up at your hotel/ hostel at around 08:00 after breakfast.
After having picked up everybody we start our way towards Cerro Mocho. The partly paved / partly gravel road will take us in about an half an hour to our destination ¨Pingo Salvaje¨. This is where we park the car and organize ourselves for the hike.
We start the hike easy walking over a rolling terrain that brings us next to the lake of Sofia. From there we start going steep up until we get to a forest. The forest will give us some natural protection and shelter until getting to the open terrain of loose rocks that will bring us to the summit. The summit is a wide stretched out platform that gives us a lot of opportunities to different views over the area of ¨la ultima esperanza¨. From Puerto natales in the south to the Patagonian Fjords in the west, the National park of Torres del paine in the north and the big open plains of Sierra Baguales in the east. After having taken the time that the weather allowed us we start heading back down. We will take some of the same and some new trails down to the rolling trail that will lead us back to ¨Pingo Salvaje¨. There we will have a victory drink and snack before heading back to Puerto natales where we will arrive at around 19:30.
